Frequent Asked Question |
Which Operating Systems can I use with the Flash USBDrive? A: The Flash USBDrive is compatible with Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000. Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0 do not support USB and will not work with the Flash USBDrive. We anticipate having a driver for the Mac by July or August.
My PC cannot recognize Flash USB Drive. What should I do? A: First possibility is that you have not installed the driver. You will need to install the driver from either the CD that came with the USBDrive packaging or you can download the driver from here. Second possibility is that you may be using a computer from a manufacturer that does not fully support USB technology.Lastly, you may be trying to use the Flash USBDrive on a computer operating system that the Flash USBDrive does not support (Mac, Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51, Windows NT 4.0, Linux) If you are using the Flash USBDrive on a Windows 98 or Windows 2000 operating system we recommend going to the Start Menu Control Add/Remove Programs, delete the JMT USB drive, and then re-install it. What kind of files can I save on the
Flash USBdrive? I have experienced difficulties using some USB peripherals on my PC system. Would I find similar problems with the Flash USBDrive? A: Although we have done extensive testing on the Flash USBDrive on many PC platforms and software settings, we cannot be sure that it works on every PC on the market. Users will need to check with your computer manufacturer or distributor on whether their PC fully supports USB standards.
Can I protect my files from accidental deletion? A: Yes. Flash USBDrive has a write-protection switch on the side of the unit. When the switch is in the "open" position, data can be read and written to the USBDrive. When the switch is "closed", data can be read from the USBDrive, but not written onto it.
What is the difference between the Flash USB drive and a USB hard drive? A: A USB hard disk is much heavier, has moving parts, and is much larger. Furthermore, it is much more delicate due to its internal mechanical and electronic devices. On the other hand, the small, light-weight, and rugged nature of the Flash USBDrive makes it ideal for mobile usage.
Are there any precautions I should take in using the Flash USB Drive? A: Yes. Treat the USBDrive as you would any electronic device (cell phone, laptop, etc.). Keep the Flash USBDrive out of humidity, heavy physical shock, heavy electronic shock etc. Also, if your product is disabled or destroyed by modification or repair we cannot be held responsible.
